On July 11, Ames area thrift and consignment stores are collaborating to offer a Fourth Annual Thrift Store Crawl, after the success of previous Crawl events. The event promotes shopping sustainably in local Ames area businesses:

On July 11, customers may pick up an event passport at any participating store. Customers will receive a passport stamp at each store they visit on July 11. Those customers who visit six (6) of the ten (10) participating stores on July 11 will be eligible for entry in a drawing for fantastic thrifty-themed prizes.
Thrift and Consignment stores are an important part of the fabric of the Ames community. These stores help create a healthier environment by providing options to recycle goods - keeping reusable items out of the waste stream. And, many of these stores have as part of their mission to help address challenges of homelessness, addiction, mental health, poverty, and access to purposeful employment in our community.
